I am not goin to delete your mention of cumminsforum, even though they delete links to ANY other diesel websites.
The bastards deleted a link to 12VALVE.COM from my profile

I personally don't like that site because it's run by a marketing company that just wants you to click on ads.
Same as powerstroke and a few others owned by the same guy.

I have to agree. All tho the info I have learned from them is invaluable, Cummins Forum and DTR has been extremely over governed. I fully under stand keeping it G rated, but lately I am on edge whenever I start a thread with them. I was just on Cummins Forum the other day asking for price and where to get a 16cm exhaust housing for a HX40W and one of the moderators erased most of the posts and said to keep these questions for PMs. How do I know who to PM if I cant ask the questions in open forum as to who can answer my questions? Also DTR I just found out doesn't allow links to eBay and such because it might interfere with sales from there store. With that how can I help someone out , like with the GETRAG rebuild kits that are on eBay. Hearing an Administrator say what you did makes me all the more glad I found this sight, thanks to 1stGen.org allowing you to post this site on your sig. I apologize if this wasn't the place to release this rant, but lately this subject has been getting under my skin and hearing you mention the same sort aggravation I had to put in my two cents. I hope this site gets to have as much daily activity as DTR. If I can help with that in any way please ask me.

Jer

Hi,

Well i was only on Cumminsforum because i wanted to look around at the threads and get some background on these trucks. I know a bit about them but before i get one i want to know what goes bad how to fix it and what ever else i need to know.

I don't know if they will join or not, but i have two buddies from another forum of a game we used to build in and play. ( they both have 3500 CTD duallys. ) They both have a pretty good knowledge of the second gen's. Both of them did 5 speed swaps from their auto trannys so they might be a good resource,

I really do hope this site takes off. The earliest i can go look at that 1990 is monday. Im going camping with the Girlfriend over the weekend so i can't look at it then. I hope to become one of you Cummins guys someday,

Kody

Hi my name is Dennis and I have a 1996 Ram 3500. It has a #10 fuel plate, straight pipe, BHAF, and a South Bend clutch good for 350HP. It originally had a 47RE automatic that I had a Goerend valve body and single disk torque converter in, but with some helpful suggestions from a couple friends through chat and forums like this I dropped the auto and replaced it with a NV4500 5spd. The NV4500 has over 300k miles on it and shifts like new, my truck itself has around 170,000 on it now. I'm currently rebuilding my front end with new Moog ball joints, outer and inner tie rod ends, idler arm, pitman arm, and I'm looking into throwing on some new shocks as well as the possibility of leveling the truck with spacers or longer springs.

I am also a member of DTR and while sometimes they can be strict, I hope that no one is quick to judge the admins because of this. I have met many of the admins in person at events such as Larry Ellis, John_P, Totallyrad, rattlinram, madhat, and probably some more, and I can honestly say they are some of the nicest people that I have met. They would go out of their way to lend a helping hand in any way they could.

Hey Dfo glad to see you joined,

Hopefully this site will take off. But most forums do take quite some time to get good.

Now we just need to wait for Box...

Hi! I have 2 CTD'S, a '97 2500 ex-cab and a '92 D350. I was chatting with another member today and he mentioned this site. I never heard of it so I thought I'd take a look. It looks about like 1st gen in the early days, give it time, it'll grow!

Welcome.
Yeah, as long as everyone keeps checking back and participating we'll have thousands of people on here before we even know it. May take a year or more but we've got to spread the word and post good info.
If there's good information here people will want to be here. Anything you guys can add would be great!

I'm going to try and check up every few days at least.. and start adding more content once I get some time to work on the truck. I hope you guys will add stuff you find useful, original content rather than links.
Even simple things help, like the one I did on the Amsoil air filter install (and have yet to complete)

It ain't going to be easy and I definitely cannot do it without y'alls help

Thanks
